funding for course

    i have been accepted to postgraduate diploma in educational leadership. i was just wondering does anyone know of any funding for this course. Can you get funding from the school for it. any info would be great thanks in advance.:D

    Depends from school to school, but I'd ask the BOM anyhow, worth a try.

    As well as grants remember that you will be able to claim back some of it in tax. Was at the high rate 3 years ago when i did it but could be at the lower rate now with all the changes.

    Only if it's on the list of courses approved by the revenue.

    i knew you could claim the tax back but you think in this day in age there would be some sort of major funding for professional develpment.;)thanks for the replies

    I know two people going into their second year of this in Maynooth. No school funding as they chose themselves to do it.

    You will be able to apply for tax relief.

    Many schools offer a small grant, my school's was only 600 but everything helps. Check with your BOM.

    You will also be able to apply for the Teachers Refund of Fees Scheme:

    Chance your arm and ask the Teaching Council for a few bob.

    Depending on what slant you're taking on it, your union might have some small funds to give people.
