    145

You could do with editing that....:D

The dublin bus website is your friend. There is the route planner option.

The 145 goes from Heuston Station and will drop you off at D'olier Street or Nassau St. Not sure why the other poster was saying to rephrase that. If you're unsure just check the Dublin Bus website.

It is the 145, you can get off either on D'Olier Street before College Green or Nassau Street after, both less then 10 min walk from the Green itself. The D'Olier Street stop is immediately after the bus crosses O'Connell Bridge. 145 *should* depart Heuston very regularly but will depend on the time of day you arrive (and the omens, etc.)

25x 25a 25b 65 . in fact almost every bus that stops outside the bus stop near the taxi rank goes down the canal to d'olier street and drops people off at trinity college. i do this on some days .

The 145 doesn't stop there, it stops around the corner on Nassau St beside the side entrance to Trinity, it'll only take you a couple of minutes to walk back along to Grafton Street. The only buses from Heuston that stop in that alcove stop beside the front entrance to Trinity are the Xpressos in the morning before 9am, and they stop at the side entrance of Heuston, not the front.

Don't worry, it's not you. I thought I'd stick it in the journey planner to see, it's not at all simple, 5 stops for Heuston Station, another 5 for College Green. How are you supposed to know which stop is which without intimate knowledge.

so anyway selected stops 4425 and 1278 as examples and the 90 plus walk or 90, walk and 123. no mention of the 145 at all, useless thing

Just a question on this, does anyone know how long this would take from Heuston to Nassau street at about 3.30pm traffic (not that peak time). Just a comparison for me!

Only suggested it because someone else suggested walking the entire journey

you can also get the 26 which stops on the johns road side of heuston, or if you walk across to parkgate street you can get any of the 66's and 67. they all stop in college green. the bus stop is only about 3 mins walk across the liffey from the front entrance. the fare should be only €1.20

    You've a range of choices:

145 from Heuston Main Entrance to D'Olier Street or Nassau Street
25a, 25b or 26 from St John's Road to College Street or Nassau Street
66, 66a, 66b or 67 from Parkgate Street to College Street or Nassau Street
68, 69 from Parkgate Street to Central Bank or Westmoreland Street
79, 79a from St John's Road to Central Bank or Westmoreland Street

Personally I always liked the Luas best - way more predictable in terms of time. You only have a short walk if you get off at Jervis and walk through Temple Bar - maybe 5 - 10 mins (this is a guess and I'm not good at guessing)

The LUAS is actually slower virtually every time than the bus. With the increased frequencies on the 25a/b and 145 the bus is now almost as frequent if not more so than the LUAS.

 Google maps is giving me 1km for the distances so I think 10 minutes wouldn't be that far out.
