i shot a party at the weekend for the first time in RAW as i thought id need to be able to use the camera raw fill light sliders etc as it would be in a dark room, turns out it wasnt that dark and i took some good photos which i think wouldve been fine as jpeg. now.... i have 11gb to go through and my netbook isnt coping well.
so i set up my pc at home and have got the pictures on it via my hard drive, but it says theres a problem and that photoshop cs5 cant open RAW. is that right??
i only have elements 9 on my netbook, so im not sure what to do next.... can anyone nudge me in the right direction, the thought of going thru all those photos on my netbook is making me want to jump off a cliff and i hate the way elements organiser works, grrrr, am annoyed at myself now for being such a noob.:mad:

i was thinking maybe i could batch process all the photos on my netbook into jpeg, then move them over to the pc.

You've taken the first step to enlightenment by shooting raw... Complete the journey and go the whole hog.... Just download ACR to a usb key and install it on the other machine. You'll love the how raw is much more forgiving and more dynamic than jpg.
