I'm 18 years old, and am coming up from Kerry to Dublin for a few days. Will be in college up there come September, but would like to pop in for a quick pint probably on Sunday night, on my own, just to get a slight feel for the gay scene.

I know there is the George, but what would you suggest as a good place to hang around Sunday night for about an hour? The busier the better, I'd imagine :D Thanks!

Well Sunday night in the George is generally busy, there's a drag show on every Sunday night.

On your own or with a friend?

The George sounds good then. On my own probably, but only for a short while. I get off the train at 7ish and my friend won't be around until about 9.

I doubt anywhere would be particularlly busy before 9.
The front lounge can be good to just chillax if you're alone.

Oh yeah ok, if it's at 7 or 8 then everywhere will be pretty empty, the show in the George doesn't start til 9.30 or 10 or something.

Hey ,I know you said you'd be there on Sunday but if you happen to be in Dublin on a Friday you should go to WAR at Andrew's Lane, it's a gay friendly night full of younger people it's really fun and not too full on!
