    Hi there,
I am probably going to sound foolish with this question but I am finding it difficult to find the answer on the CPA website.
I have a Business Degree but wish to further my career with an accounting cert. I believe I may be exempt from the first year of ACCA but I'm wondering, what is the difference between the CPA and ACCA courses? Is one a follow on from the other? I don't want to start one when the other other could be a follow on as it would be a waste of time and money! Thanks in advance!

If it's a choice between CPA and ACCA then I'd personally say ACCA without a moments hesitation.

    LOL sometimes :P

No, both are fully qualified accountant/auditor routes. There's a sticky at the top that covers a lot, but not exhaustive.

    Thanks for the feedback!
This is where my confusion lies...on the CPA website it gives this info..

Maybe they do not relate to the ACCA?

The Certified Accounting Technician is a lower level qualification offered by the ACCA.

The actual ACCA qualification is a professional accountants' designation at the same level as the CPA etc. normally when people on this site refer to studying ACCA they are referring to the higher level designation not the CAT.

Hi. Is ACCA better than ACA? If so, then why? Thanks
