Fully insured and registered. If its a valuable watch i would employ FedEX as An Post only insure to a certain figure. I sent a €300 item off today and AP only insured it to the value of €100.

Check the small print. FedEx, DHL, UPS etc will not insure watches/jewellery  I know of a guy on tz-uk, who paid extra for insurance on a Rolex with DHL, and when it went missing, he got nothing.
The only way I know of to send something fully insured is to use Mailboxes Etc, who are brokers for FedEx etc. They offer their own insurance, but it's pricey (4% of the value I think).
