Activities for an 8yr old?

    Have a mate and her 8year old son coming to stay for a night or two this weekend.

    Just wondering what exactly we can go do that would mean the kid won't be bored! All I can think of is wee trip to cinema and pop into Petmania to see the animals and maybe stop off at a playground....after that I am out of ideas and haven't a clue what's about Galway city for a kid!!

    What about the aquarium in Salthill? Ye woudl get a nice walk on the prom in, an afternoon in the aquarium and ice cream or coffee to follow?
