That kinda depends on the areas your playing in and other factors.

Like if its a heavily wooded area where the shooting range is small, a less powerful scope would be possibly best unless you have a good vantage point.

Or you could be in open area with long shooting ranges and your rifle can shoot a good distance and hence possibly a more powerful scope would be best.

If you give us details on your gun and area of where your playing, you'd get more accurate recommendations.

I don't have one just yet but i will be getting a KJW m700 and throwing a lot of upgrades into it i.e Tight bore and so on.

I tend to play in Red Barn and Bellurgan Park and i go to nearly every TA Events weekend game. I would only be using the sniper in certain game scenarios as i just fancy a change in roles from assault to sniper/recon.

For airsoft the better scope you can get would be some thing with a magnification of around 4 or 5 and with the widest field of view you can get.You dont need to see to far and with anything greater you could spend the day zooming in and out for nothing. With a wide feild of view you can get a good sight of what your looking at and you wont lose them as easy if they make a run you wont have to move away from the scope to track wit there running to.In realsteel terms there knowen as scout scopes.

Thats what I uses.Im sure other prefer a different set up.
Just for a reference for you. This would be along the lines of what im talking about.A low starting magnification thats ajustable to 9 but with the widest field of view but in a compact scope to safe weight http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-NcSTAR-3-9X50-COMPACT-RIFLE-SCOPE-P4-SNIPER-RINGS-/130546730086?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1e65310466

You don't really need any more than 4x magnification. The larger your objective lens diameter is, the less severe your tunnel vision is. Personally I would recommend a selective zoom (preferably either 1x or 3x up to 4 - 6x magnification, with an objective lens of around 30 - 50mm.

All you'll use the larger magnification for is spotting - although, you may use it in TA events.
