Well im not even going to bother going unreg for this!

I doubt too many people know too much on this subject but if anyone does please let me no!
Im 20 and was addmitted to hospital back in january and spent 3 months there,by total accident i brought a box of cartridges in with me and was found when doing a routine search on my first day,so the doctor got the guards back home to lift my 2 guns,Im just wondering is there any hope of me getting this sorted out and getting them back,or any way around it or anything at all i can do?????? It aint the doctors call, its the guards, there would be a lot of suicidal issuses and events in the last few months which i imagone is going to fcuk it all up

Thats something that only the guards can answer Im afraid.

They could argue the point that (whether its true or not) that you may be a danger to yourself or others if the guns are left in your possession and may decide to make a judgement call.

I will say however,Im utterly perplexed how someone accidentally brings a box of shot gun cartridges anywhere with them, never mind into a hospital.

I presume they were in a bag you just happened to bring with you but still, you really should be more careful in future. That probably sounds really preachy however its not intended.Ive been around guns my whole life so would be quite anal about their care and care of the ammo.

Anyway, check with the Gardai, only they will be able to answer you.

As part of the application for a firearms licence you must provide details of your GP / medical practitioner and disclose any medical condition (physical or mental) that might be relevant to you holding a firearm. Disclosing any history doesn't mean you will be refused automatically but the opinion of your doctor may be sought.

You have nothing to lose by asking but just be aware your medical history (if relevant) may impact on the final decision. The only place you will get an answer is your local Garda station.

Sorry OP, but we really can't give you legal advice on this site.

    Apologies,
