Jumping on the GF wagon here. I did this race last year prior to gaelforce and found it great training. Perfect prep run for the first run in GF. Hilly but not too hilly. I would really recommend this to any one who is training for GF and is worried about the first run. Its great to see events like this in wicklow. Any one else doing it? I have heard a rumour the numbers are down ? Its a pity it got great reviews last year. 5 stars all round http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=67031942

    Second that.

Great race and a lovely scenic route around Blessington. Good challenging course

Brilliant Race, my favorite event of last year, definitely worth doing.
Its a great race in its own right, but ya its great training for GF too.

I am gutted that I can't make it this year, next year hopefully.

Agree with all the above. Both a great race in its own right but perfect timing as well re Gaelforce training. With it being just two weeks before Gaelforce itself its a great time to be getting in a tough run of this length. Its got the hills, its got the scenary and its well run so hope to see everyone there that did it last year and hopefully some new heads as well :)

Hoping to have something round the 200 mark this year - Tee shirts have been ordered at this stage anyway.

There is the option to sign up on the day and the 5k "not so tough" option might well appeal to the OH's so might be more :)!

Was out with d'official Course Measure Man yesterday and 5k starts right at gate of the hotel with same finish beside the driving range tee off area as the 10 miler had last year.

Directions and distance for both have been marked on the road at all junctions for anyone that wants to check it out.
Done in k's for the 5k and miles for the 10 mile but we will add the km for the 10 miler before race day.

I'd like to do it with gaelforce around the corner but its a wee bit pricey for a 10 mile road race :(, not even a goody bag either....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,618 ✭✭✭Mr Freeze

Well they did have the early bird offer & they don't do a goodie bag, cause goodie bags are normally crap, they give ya a quality top that you will hopefully get a good bit of use out of.

My own from last year, gets greats use.

Agree with Mr. Freeze. Nothing of any real value in most goodie bags and the t-shirts you get at most races get confined to my wardrobe as 'nighties' because of their poor quality. Loved the HH top we got at this race, got lots of use from it afterwards.

Online entry is now closed for this.

We have kept entry on the day down at €35 with first 50 there sure to get a tech tee with others depending on the level of no shows.
We were not able to secure same HH tees this year but ones we have do have a ladies specific design available.

Weather looking like it might hold out too which will be nice

First 50 to get tee shirts?????? Didn't say that when I was paying the entry fee! Very misleading for an event that costs €35 to enter........

    Aye that is it!

First 50 "On The Day" entries to be guaranteed a Tee Shirt!

All those pre- entered will get one be assured in size ordered!

Doubt we will get 50 on the day but ever hopeful.
Hopefully those looking to enter on the day will now turn up early so as to avoid a scrum at 5 mins to closing of registration

Speed you go at should dictate who comes last and last year we had several walkers.

90 pre-entered for the 10M and 32 for the 5k so will see how many we get on the day :)

My lift for the Tulfarris 10 tomorrow has pulled out of doing the race so I was wondering if any one had space in a car. I live in Stillorgan so can meet people most places on the south side.

    PM or email me oliver.castle@tribeguru.com

I can provide chocolate and petrol money in return and I promise I wont be too slow running it.

    Cheers

    Enjoyed this race on Sunday.

It was my 1st 10 mile road race. Completed it in 1.20. Happy enough with that.

The weather held out until I finished which was a bonus.!

Overall I thought it was well organised. Good selection of fruit, cake & sweets at the finish line. The course itself was tough. Couple of testing climbs, in particular the very last one after the 8 mile mark. Nice T-Shirt too.

It was my last big run before Gaelforce West in 2 weeks so glad I got through it in one piece.!

Really enjoyed this myself (apart from the climbs!)

Nice atmosphere and cake was lovely at the finish too. Finished in 1:25 which should stand to me for Gaelforce next week:D
