I am actually thinking of just sticking to American (or Canadian) golf for the time being. Had a small stake on a few players in Viking including Chris Kirk so made up for my horrid Open betting. Europe seems to be minefield these days..

Think Brendan Steele might be big price in Canada....

Ugh, Johnson's odds. Considering putting him in a double with one from Lehmann, Watson and Langer in the Senior Open Championship.

Besides the double I might add another bet the ones below. Not sure. Will edit my post by Wednesday at the latest.

    European Tour -
    Anderson Hed @ 35/1

    PGA Tour -
    Kim @ 40/1
    Campbell @ 40/1

Quick tip - You'll often find a bit of value in backing the outsider in marquee first round 3 balls. Alex Noren 9/4 v Watson and Stenson. Andersson Hed 3/1 v Johnson and Karlsson. 12/1 (PP) the sneaky double.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 628 ✭✭✭albert kidd

    PGA.
    Moore@26

    Atwal@150

    Tom Pernice@170

    Canadian Open

Cameron Tringale and Chris Stroud Win/Place

Small stakes for the craic :D

Hand-picked two in Sweden for a bit of interest.

Niclas Fasth & Lloyd Saltman both 200/1 ;)

dare i say that's not the most imaginative pick i've ever seen

fwiw i backed Barry Lane e/w @33/1,he caught my eye a few weeks ago playing on the Euro tour as he was keeping up with the regular tour pro's off the tee. That distance advantage will help on this course as a lot of the players are going in with very long irons and woods to some par 4's,
Also in the u.s backed Ben crane @66/1,teein off soon

probably would be alright if that price is right, sounds big, what was he in the o/r market?

was looking there cant find him in the outright market no odds for him anyway. He tees off at 12.50 .

I got him at 25-1 so let hope he does it.

he will do well to feature on this course,a pure ball strikers course and some long par 4's that will not suit Weir(anyway best of luck)

well kuchar started well but now -1 through 14 but at least a par 5 to play should get there in 2

Tryin to find a small bit of value in Canadian Open now cause didnt like anthin on offer before it started.
Right now I like the look of Steve Flesch available @ 100/1 on Paddy Power ( e/w 1/5 1,2,3,4 )
He seems to playin well enough this week and is still certainly in the mix on level par .

Ryan Moore @66/1 is not too tempting a price looking at his position but he's more than capable of going low on this course the way he drives the ball

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,152 ✭✭✭PEACEBROTHER

Moore is certaintly a threat , driving long and accurate is the key on this course i feel ,
Flesch doesnt do either but his name keeps popping up to me for some reason lets hope its a good omen.

Ive gone 10 e/w on Flesch

( thats a cue for him to shoot a 80 )

History doesn't bode well for Van Pelt entering tomorrow's final round.

He's led going into the final round on the PGA Tour on three occasions and he shot final rounds of 78 & 79 in two of them  (the other was 72)

He's never won or got runner-up when entering the final round within 5 of the lead so it could be another final day disaster for Van Pelt, who simply played astonishing golf on the back 9 today. Carded those holes in 29 shots. Remarkable!

il be happy if langer starts like quiros in walton heath -4 through 3 holes.... langer needs to go to 5 under by 6th or 7th alot of boggeys yesterday by leaders and nerves seems strange from players that have done it all

  • Site Banned Posts: 26,456 ✭✭✭✭Nuri Sahin

Andres Romero saves the day :p
