Incorrect Details Entered With Ebookers Flight + Hotel

I booked a flight + hotel city break for my sister and her friend with ebookers. In a brain fart i put her name down as her maiden name and her first name as she's always been known to me.

Her passport is down as her married name and her first name as on her birth certificate.

I rang up ebookers this evening and the lady i spoke to said there was no problem changing the hotel reservation but that she would have to check regarding the flight (with Delta).

After speaking to another department in ebookers she told me that they thought that Delta would refuse to change the name as it was a full name change and not just a misspelling.

She told me to ring them back in the morning and they could contact Delta directly to see what they could do.

She offered me the possibility of cancelling with a refund of €63 per person but that wouldn't make sense as i could keep the flight for the other passenger and the hotel and only have to buy another flight should worst come to worst (i hope).

Any suggestions as to what I can expect from Delta and whether a name-change is possible and what the likely fee if it is will be?

Do I have any comeback to Delta/ebookers should they refuse to change the details?

    Thanks

Does her passport also state her maiden name?

My passport is in Irish - but I've also selected an option to display my name in English as well. It says something like "The bearer of this passport is also known as....".

Check with her first, before jumping through hoops with Delta?

    Also, moved to Travel

After a long wait on a telephone line I was offered to change the name for €75 which I gladly accepted. Last night I was told it was impossible to change the name. Persistence pays off I suppose.

Her passport states her married name and given birth name.

Her driver's licence states her married name and known name.

Her birth cert states her maiden name and her given birth name.

E-bookers sent her an email to say that the name change couldn't go through despite assuring me earlier that it would after speaking to Delta and giving them credit card details to make the €75 name change charge.

The guy i spoke to this evening was looking for any documents to show her as the name i entered and also the name as is on her passport.

I have to ring them back tomorrow but i'm not giving up and cancelling the ticket yet.
