Single earpiece

Can anyone help me please. I want to get an MP3 player (I think :P) to play music while I am out walking. The last one of these type of things I had was back in the days of the original Walkman, so while I am handy enough with computers I want something fairly simple - don't need lots of bells and whistles.

The main problem is though that I wear a hearing aid, so I need a single earpiece, can anyone tell me how I get round this while still getting reasonable sound?

Not great sound but you could try this 140.jpg as seen on EBAY.

looksee are you asking for advice on an mp3 player, headphones or both?

Normally stereo sound is split between the two ears so each ear has different music sent to it, by changing to mono both ears receive the same. With itunes you can make it so that all songs play in mono, ie. all the sound is on both sides so even if you use a single earpiece of a headphone, earphone etc. you'll be able to hear all of the music. That will allow you to use any normal earphone and only require one earpiece in your ears. The downside is you're limited to using apple's products.

I'm not sure if windows media player (rockbox I think does do it but I'm not very familiar with it) allows the same tweaking but others might know whether or not it's possible and how easily it's done. If any others do work like itunes then you won't require buying a single sided earpiece and can pick and choose as you like and you won't be limited to choosing an apple product.

Do you have an "over the ear" or an "in the ear" hearing aid?

Have two "in the ear" hearing aids myself, and find the "wrap around the head" ones the best. Example: http://www.sony.ie/product/hps-active/mdr-as30g or the ones that wrap around your ear such as http://www.sony.ie/product/hpn-street-style/mdr-q68lw.
