    Hi
well i currently have 5000 euro sitting in aib getting 3.25% which i can take out with 7 days notice. DIRT will also be put on the interest so i wont end up with that much after. But its better than nothing.

i was into shares about 2 years back and made abit of money but i pulled out of all of them as i found them too risky and just lost interest after.

i am looking into medium to long term shares now which i can invest 5000 euros in.
i wont go near any of the irish banks as they are too much of a gamble.
But i dont mind the look of RBS and barclays ?
would any1 be able to give me advice on these or any other good shares?

would Greece also have a major impact on these do if they default?

You'd get a better response if you were to present some of your research and ask for commentary. Proper research takes time and a lot of effort, don't expect people to give up valuable research without gaining some thing in return...

They look damn cheap but I'd wait to see how much capital they need to raise after a Greek default first.

Those figures should be calculated this week, according to JPMorgan they need €25Bil - I haven't seen the report myself yet but it seems a lot.

Stay well away from investing in banks. We are on the edge of a MAJOR economic meltdown. RBS down over 4% today alone and leaking badly.

You know sometimes the stock market gets it very wrong, witness BARC at 50p.

UK banks are starting to look interesting now, especially LLOY.
