i've read someone for being failed over foot-operated "hand-break".

In my standard car (Renault laguna) there's a "Service icon" lighten up, which is, because "wheel sensors" are broke and it keeps lightning up icon about checking tires. My instructor said that it won't go h
thru exam, is that correct? It passed nct with it...

@colm: are you serious? So I either go with colt and can't drive my car, or I got with laguna and get my ass kicked off?

It's at the discretion of the instructor, if they notice any warning lights they can refuse to do the test if they wish as with any warning light they can assume the car is not roadworthy.

If your under pressure to get the test done soon then just for the duration of the test, just open the dash and put some black tape over the Service icon, problem sorted and it lets you do the test in your car and get your "manual" licence ;) just remember to take it off after and get your problem sorted ;)

i was driving an auto when it came time to do my full license exam, i just rented my driving instructors manual car (35 euro for the hour i think it was) and i passed :)

i think it also makes a better first impression with the examiner if you turn up in a driving school car.
