Home Gym: Plate Storage and need for Dumbbells?

If you have a home gym, do you use something to store the plates or just leave them on the floor?

I'm trying to figure out whether I should buy this weight stand (as I'm buying equipment and paying for postage anyway).

Also, do you think I'd need a set of dumbbell handles as well?

I'm going to be buying a power rack, a good FID bench and a good olympic weights set. The above additions would cost an extra 70 euro or so each.

I'll be starting with Starting Strength initially and possibly, after some time, moving on to something else.

Personally I'd leave them neatly on the floor, as long as it was safe to do so.

I'm hoping to get these but I'll only need the plates, so you can have the bars if it works out and if they're any good to you.

Thanks for the advice Dotcomdolly. I was considering the stand because I was worried about about taking up all the room in the shed - but I suppose it'll take up less room stacking them neatly on the floor. The stand is probably more geared towards gyms.

Thanks a million for the offer of the dumbbell bars. When I sell my current weights and get the olympic set, I don't think those bars would suit as they appear to be of the standard, 1-inch thickness. Again, the offer is much appreciated :D

No worries. Re the stand it may as well be a hat stand for all it's used in my gym!
