First year accommodation

I know Trinity Hall is where most first years go, but it's way too annoying that it's not on campus. Is there any building on campus with a somewhat high amount of first years? Living on campus is much better for obvious reasons and there's also the whole historic factor...but at the same time I want to meet other first years...any TCD students know what might be best for me?

Unless there are clear medical grounds/special needs to support an application for campus you will be only able to apply for halls.

No rooms on campus are allocated to first years

There are about 800 places on campus, for a university with 15,000 students (as well as staff). Even final year students have to compete for a place on campus.
