Recommend a cream colour for a bright hallway

    Hey all,

I'm really pernickity when it comes to paint colours so I need your help :o

We're renting and got permission to remove the manky blue carpet from the hallway exposing the gorgeous floor boards. I'm going to paint the hall, stairs and landing to get rid of the yellowy-white cream colour that's currently there.

I'm looking to paint over it with a contemporary cream or off white which will look warm and inviting but still retaining the feeling of light that's there. I want to steer clear of anything with peach or yellow undertones, I prefer the more natural taupe/stone/mushroom shades.

    Any suggestions for me?

    Thanks!!! :)

we picked Crown Beach House. We used it all over our downstairs, hall stairs & landing. lovely and bright & works well even in a less sunny area of house.

Hi Glowing... the best thing to do is go and pick upsome colour charts and then decide on a few colours that you like. Colours will look different in different light so you should pick up a few testers and then paint an a4 sheet with each colour and then you'll be able to move the sheets around and see them in different lights in the hallway.

Personally there are three off-white colours I love...all from Dulux...
Porcelain which is a lovely offwhite with slight brown/grey tone-very very nice
Country White which is very very slightly pinkish tone
Moonlight White which is a light sandy offwhite

...oh correction - four colours, theres also ivory whisper which is funnily enough a light ivory off-white!!

Colour is a very personal thing though as people see colour differently.. different tones/shades/tints...

    Good Luck with it though!!!:)
