I posted this in health and fitness, didnt have any luck anyway,

I'm looking to build up my sprint speed and endurance(multiple sprints back to back with little or no(active?) recovery)

I've found this online, about all i can find really, any thoughts?, its for rugby

    http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/rugby1.htm

Second and third paragraph is what I'm interested in, i have no idea how to structure a sprint session, although i think i should work on say stamina one day and max speed another, i.e. longer rests between all out efforts??

    anyway any thoughts?

Here is a link to the best track & field coaching site that I know of. There's loads of advice there if you use the search function.

Maybe the track coaches here can be more specific on what you're looking for.

The link that you have posted does seem to have some decent information on developing exlosive power and speed. Here is a link which will give you an idea of how to structure training a little better:

    http://www.usatf.org/groups/Coaches/library/2007/Sprint%20Training/Clyde_Hart3.pdf

The one note that I would make on your link is that down hill running can be beneficial but is high risk injury so be very careful with this

Other than that the Brian Mac link is also a great source. maximal effort with full recovery is. you are trying to stimulate fast twitch muscle fibres so efforts need to be at a fully rested state (i.e if you are already fatigued you are not going to optimally recruit fast twitch fibres)

Again not a sprint coach so these are more general observations but hopefully they can steer you in the right direction
