You know those charity appeals that tell us how women and children have to walk miles to get water... why don't they just move closer to the water source? Serious question.

Move their huts or whatever. Why not just live by the water source?

Yes, because it's such a unique question that only one person has ever thought of it in the history of the world.

But they're willing to go there daily?

I thought it was more of a "somebody already owns the land with water" malarkey.

so basically its not as much to do with lack of available water and more to do with the fact that its a lousy country ?

The lack of available water forces them into dangerous militia/rival tribe area.

Maybe they would get eaten by lions?

Take all the homeless and abused animals you see on the ISCPA adverts, and send em over to all those sad children we see on the Oxfam ads. They smaller animals can be pets. The medium sized animals can be sold on for food/money. The larger animals can be used to carry water or ridden to the source of the water so they'll stop complaining about the walk.

    Problem solved.

    No I won't explain.....

Think of the amount of African fauna that can trample. kill and/or eat people.

Think only available water source for miles.

Look for light bulb over head. Or perhaps not.

    Coz its a shithole?

Surely if they're smart enough to have light bulbs overhead, they could come up with some sort of water source?

45Miles may be a bit of an exageration,
but I'm sure I read somewhere that the reason they do it is because of Malaria,
Basicly if X is the range a female Mosquito can travel from the watersource in search of people to feed off, then the ideal distance to locate yerself from the watersource is X+1

that, and also the possibility that the Crocodiles or Warlords will kill you for the Laugh if you live near them

Let's all chip in and buy them a longer pipe.

I think we need more crocodiles and warlords to end hunger in Africa.

Do various ****\militia wait for them to move to a water source before they start raping and murdering?

If the crocs eat all of the warlords, that would be a good start.

D'you not think on one of their long walks that that idea may have crossed their mind if it was actually an option?

With what money Zohan, there's loike no ATM's in the countryside and if they go to built up areas they will be killed by second hand smoke from inconsiderate warlords. What a total mare!

I was just thinking the same thing while I watched the mass exodus from Roscommon into Galway to be closer to the hospital there. For a few days there they were all like 'Agggh Galways is so far away'. Then John Mac said 'Why don't we all just move to Galway' and so they did.

If African people are so hungry why don't they just hunt wild animals on the masai mara like lions do? A single zebra can feed a pride of lions for days, so surely the same meal would feed an African family for about a week?

If the African people went hunting in that region, the lions would have even more to eat.
