Is it as stuffy and poserish as Players from Trinners?
I've always wanted to get involved in a musical or even just a normal play but I've always been too scared in Trinity because Players are all douches...
Now that I'm going to Maynooth in September is this my chance?
(I've no acting experience or skills!)

Never in it myself but knew some people who were. I'm sure it will be very friendly, welcoming, non-stuck up and all the rest of it. We don't allow stuffy poserish cliquey types like you get in Trin or UCD here...and if they do get in we beat them to death with our hurley sticks (which all NUIM students carry with them at all times.)

Drama Soc are lovely people. A little bit cliqueish but what society isn't. Get involved...you'll find friends for life! But just remember it takes up a lot of time so be prepared to sacrifice some social time if you wanna get involved in a play. There is a first timers festival in the first semester-its a chance for first time members of the society to get involved in all aspects of theatre. You can audition to act, direct, produce, etc. The plays are usually one acts or short plays so its a great chance to get involved and see if you like it! And you don't need any acting experience or skills. Workshops are usually run during the year, and you don't need to act to be involved in the Drama Soc. Good Luck...=)
