Wouldn't it be ironic if...

First can I start of by saying I wouldn't wish ill health on anyone (friend or enemy). But wouldn't it be ironic if, this Sunday while attending the Connacht Final in Roscommon Enda Kenny was involved in an incident that required urgent and immediate emergency health care such as having a heart attack (or more likely being attacked by a Roscommon fan). Could it be that on Sunday afternoon karma will strike and Enda Kenny will be the one who most desperately needs Roscommon A&E?

I'm sure the local vet will do a grand job.

He'd probably be put into a helicopter to an airstrip and get an emergency plane trip to a country with a functioning health service

I have it on record he will be escorted by the Maigh Eo Ultras. Enda will be the safest man in Hyde park on Sunday!

    He'll be seen to.

I think it would be more ironic if the Government revered their decision to close the A&E at Roscommon and instead invested millions into making it a state of the art medical centre.

Then a big asteroid wipes Roscommon from the face of the earth.

This actually would be Ironic unlike any of the verses in Her song*

*See Ed Byrnes disection of the song for further analysis

I think you are confusing irony with something else.

I don't think it counts as karma if your attacked for doing something.

For his own safety I would have thought Enda would be staying well away from the Hyde. The people of Roscommon are angry (and rightly so) and him turning up is just asking for trouble.

Get over it Roscommon. The country is gone down the tubes. I live about an hour and twenty + minutes from UCHG by ambulance, you don't hear me bitching there's no emergency dept in Clifden  Feckin primadonnas.

What a ridiculously stupid argument you make. To compare Clifden to Roscommon when it doesn't even have a hospital is pointless. We are angry because we were promised the hospital would be kept open before the election. Had Fine Gael been honest John McDermott would most likely have got the last seat in Roscommon. Dennis Naughten TD is on the verge of cutting all ties with his party. 2 Roscommon councilors have left the Fine Gael party.

And why? Because of false promises. Being told an A&E that cost 8 million to build a few years ago is unsafe even though not one inspector stepped foot inside the door of Roscommon A&E. False reports that claimed the mortality rate at Roscommon was 4 times higher than Galway when in fact its now been proven that both hospitals were on a par. So don’t you dare call the people of Roscommon primadonnas when they have every right to fight Fine Gael's smear campaign against Roscommon Hospital.

Never mention the word 'Irony' on AH. It will always trigger smartarse responses stating that you don't know what irony is. Even quoting the dictionary, and explaining it step by step will not convince the almighty protectors of irony.

I will, and I have. Politicians break promises, get over it, it happens all over the world. The country can afford damn all but as usual the me feiner Irish want it all on their own doorstep and screw the reality of the world.

I'm sure he would prefer to be treated in Castlebar hospital OP.

If Enda's and James' argument over Roscomon hospital is so convincing why did they need to lie?
Unless John Crown has an axe to grind with FG, can anyone explain why his conclusions on the matter do not support the governments? Also Enda is giving explanations that he would have derided FF over- I'm no fan of FF by the way. It's just a bit rich to condemn FF for lying, then blithely passing off lies by FG as " AH sure they all do it"

Also we all know Enda Kenny wouldn't dare downgrade services in his own constituency no matter what a supposedly 'independent' report said.
