    Hi,
I'm getting to the stage of laying the floor insulation and just wondering if anyone knows if perimeter insulation is required when the house is drylined?

If it is required, is it just required on the external walls?

    Thanks in advance.

the above link are the MINIMUM standards, but are actually now way out of date...

may I ask who is advising you , arch/ arch tech or are you winging it? and if so, you asking the above question screams of you needing some professional help...

    Thanks for the link.

I'm waiting on feed back from an engineer and was just reading up on the installation guidelines and just decided to throw this question out there.

Looking at your link has me more confused. My drylining board is about 30mm away from from the hardcore, and the link you sent has the perimeter insulation in and under the wall. In my case the perimeter insulation will be against the bottom of the finished wall. So when the floor is poured the perimeter insulation will be visible around the perimeter. Is this normal?

    Thanks

Yes but you will then need to cut it back to ground level before you lay your flooring....

    so just to clear up

you have a subfloor poured but i take it you will be installing underfloor heating? i assume so because of the gap evident between the door and the subfloor. PS what is the gap measurement.. it only looks about 100mm.
have you insulation under the sub floor?

Thanks for getting back to me.
No UFH and no insulation under the subfloor. The gap is nearly 150mm. I resized the picture to upload so it may look a bit distorted.

I'll be putting in the perimeter insulation.

if this is a standard "rads in concrete floor" construction then:

    1. why is there a sub floor?
    2. why wasnt all the plumbing first fix done at floor stage?
    3. how do you intend on making up this other 150mm?

This picture was taken the day before the first fix plumbing was started.
There will be 75mm of insulation and 75mm of screed.

    that's not much insulation!

I know. Its half of what I have in the walls between board and drylining. It was too late when I spotted how little it was and liquid screed is not an option. I'll get it right the next time.
