    Hi,

my partner and i recently got engaged and are trying to decide on a venue for the wedding reception. We have made very few decisions yet except that it will be somewhere in Ireland and that we are hoping to look at something a little different or unusual without breaking the bank. Anyone have any particularly good experiences with venues or know of unusual places to get married,

    :)

I was just at Gougane Barra in West Cork last week and it was absolutely beautiful - St. Finbarrs Oratory lies in the middle of a lake and the whole place is just magical.

Perfect if you want a small wedding as the chapel only holds about 50 people, 60 at a push. There is a hotel just across the lake for a reception.
