Hi-Im female-5ft7-and bought my first protein drink (whey)!! Only trouble is I dont know when to use it or specifically what its for!
I was training 6 times a week for duathlons and bike up til last yr and usually only survived on energy drinks but recently went to Holland and Barrett looking for a good drink as Ive started training again and they gave me whey protein drink.
Im not training 6 days but am going gym 3 days and cycling weekends....as I am only getting back into it (a stone and half heavier from yr off) can anyone tell me what and when I should take this drink?
I def dont want to bulk up but I do want to go back to the way I was up til last yr, where I just looked much fitter and was fitter!! I have taken first step and lost half stone in few weeks and working ass off at gym but I seem to tire easily when doing tough workout.
Just have a big tub of protein at home but afraid to take it in case I get heavy! Also can I take it instead of meal??

Take a scoop of whey in a shake immediately after lifting weights, and possibly after a long cycle. Don't bother for short cycles.

That's the best use. If you miss a meal, you can make a small shake to replace it, but it's better to eat real food. Whey is not as filling as a meal.

Whey won't make up bulk up. Very few women have the testosterone to bulk anyway, even if they are lifting very heavy and eating a huge calorie surplus.
