A new Radar that can detect Suicide Bombers:
A new radar system by Science, Engineering and Technology Corporation (SET) is helping reduce the threat of suicide bombers to buildings, civilians and soldiers by alerting military personnel to possible bombers up to 100 yards away.

CounterBomber features three radar detectors and uses an algorithm to detect possible bomb materials underneath clothing. If a threat is detected, soldiers can be alerted via a handheld device, such as a smartphone.

Another benefit of CounterBomber is it eliminates privacy concerns because the device doesn't use X-ray technology.

It appears as if the US Army may be using CounterBomber - it has secured a US$48.2m contract with SET.

The cost of a CounterBomber is US$300,000.

I remember reading somewhere that the US forces call Suicide Bombers the "Not So Smart Bomb". When i first heard of this radar i was thinking it might be able to identify a particular kind of dumb!
