Basically my situation is that I never signed off the dole when i started working again. I havent been collecting it and i am paying prsi and paye again, but say if i were to be made redundant would i have to reapply and go through the whole procedure again or just resume collecting it again at the post office?

Also as i wasnt collecting it, does not signing off affect the amount of time i can claim for?

Any advice is appreciated, ill be going down to the sw office later this week and id like to know what to expect.

Even if you're not collecting it, it's being processed in your name which means money is, as far as the government is concerned, going to you. Basically, even though you are well intentioned, this is viewed as benefit fraud and it would be worth your time sorting it out rather than letting it be. especially since a bit of investigation would show you ARE employed while receiving state benefits

    Hope this helps

What are you going down the Social Welfare for during the week? You should have signed off, and it is fairly easy to do this online.

I don't know for sure, but once a few weeks have been missed, the claim will be frozen - and if you were made redundant it would not be as simple as turning up to collect again. Once you miss a signing on date it is also frozen, so I presume you have not been signing on?

You will have to visit the Social Welfare again if you need it in future and re-apply, circumstances will have become different than before. Let's hope you don't need to anyways.

Thanks very much. I tried calling the office but i got no answer.

Just after filling in the form online and i backdated it to the week i started working. Of theres a problem with it id say theyll call me. Still going down to the sw office in person later on whenever i have a day off during the week, since this job is looking a bit sketchy, just want to make sure everything is in order.
