    me and my girlfriend are receiving benfits i get job seekers and she is on maternity we get about 370 week between us and rent but do not claim a allowance, her brother has just come back from oz and has to stay with us and is just about to claim for benefit will his claim effect our claim, plus we are week and half in the house and havent changed address yet but he is putting his claim down as are new address we where hoping to hold off changing address till we have paid are months rent

    his claim wont affect your job seekers or maternity but it will affect the rent. He will have to make a contribution. But two things you are claiming social welfare from a different address and rent allowance from a different address, fraud straight away. Why dont you just ring social welfare and tell them you have moved and fill up a new rent form.

    You need to go into sw office with tenacy agreement for where you are and change your address on the system.

    His claim will not affect your claim.
