I'm getting conflicting answers to this question so I'm hoping someone who's recently got hormones off Dr' O' Shea could tell me what the story is.

On one side I'm hearing I need to see a psychiatrist to get hormones. Two diagnosis' of GID essentially.

On the other side I'm hearing Dr' Kellys' diagnosis and referral is enough for hormones and you just need to see a psychiatrist for the sex change. This person has transitioned a few years ago but I'm concerned the criteria might have been changed since she transitioned.

The second one makes more sense as it seems a bit mad to wait eight months for an appointment to be told to come back when you've seen a psychiatrist. I mean they could have told me that in a letter or over the phone. I just want clarification on the issue. Thanks.

Yeah, but out of curiousity, how did you get in touch with Dr Kelly Links?

oh, thought you meant odd that I found his number on the TENI site. crossed lines.

he had wanted me to see someone else too, which I did (though not until after I started HRT) but that wasn't required in order to access treatment. did he actually say you needed to get a second opinion before you'd be able to start HRT?
