Lock brightness settings on iPad

I am trying to find a way to do this, with no luck. My 3 yo keeps turning the iPad up to the highest brightness setting (double clicks home button and swipes right to bring up sound and brightness options on bottom of screen). He is chewing through the battery charge at a terrible rate........the toggle button on the side only words on screen lock or volume *sigh* maybe something for iOS5 to work on!

Any suggestions?

Really not much help, but you have a great sense of humour.

The iPad is a communications device as my 3yo is non-verbal, so the question is genuine and, trust me, Supernanny can't help.

Read previous reply, he is non-verbal (not able to talk) and it is a communications device. He uses it to communicate with us using a specific App called 'Grace'.

I came here with a question, I didn't come here to be questioned about why I give my 3 yo an iPad. Play fair lads, you don't always know the reasons why people do things and making assumptions will often have you thinking the wrong things.

I only asked because I like to actually know more than just the basic facts before forming an opinion so that I can give some good advice. Sorry if I have offended you in any way by trying to understand the situation, I will leave this thread alone now.
