Questions about renewing License...

    Hi all, just a few questions...

    Passed my theory test in 2007 and took 10 lessons, unfortunately I never took to driving as I didn't really have anyone to accompany me... I let my license lapse and never renewed it...

    Just wondering...

    1) Do I have to redo my theory test now that I have let it lapse for two years? I think I've heard people saying I've 5 years to reapply before I have to redo the theory test??

    and

    2) If I don't have to redo my theory test (I'm just presuming that if I do have to redo the theory test I'll have to do it anyway) - do I have to build up my log of 12 lessons or can I just do a few to refresh my memory and then have someone accompany me??

    Yep - Permabear is right. I did this only last week. Had to send in the form for renewing a learner's permit, which you get from the Garda station, along with a cheque for €15 made out to your local council, two passport photos and my old license. Got my new one in four working days.
