Mainly post Foreman and up to Spinks (I take into account his peak career here) when he was most accepted in American culture, not hated, and he fought around the world most. How would he compare to the likes of Pacquiao and Mayweather in popularity? Would he be more acclaimed, or on the same level as them. Ali changed the sport, he inspired lots of people, he was the most famous person in the world at one point.

But if we were to put his influence and hold on the world from 74-77 in a box and calculate it for the world today. I'd say he'd have the most twitter followers by a bit, the heavyweight division wouldn't be as it is. Along with much more stuff. What do ye think?

I guess you couldn't measure the impact he would have. I mean, take the global sports world. Is there one single athlete since or before him that was so so significant? Yes, in sporting terms, but Ali was more than sport. The nearest athlete to him today in terms of star appeal and charisma is Usain Bolt. And, no disrespect to Bolt, who IMO is what sport needs, but he is still is dwarfed by the impact that Ali had.

As for Pac and Floyd. They would still be great fighters, but always second to Ali in every way.

BTW, it wasn't all hate when Clay/Ali was in his prime. There were many many followers and admirers
too. Many who hated were begrudgers more than anything else.
