    Life is Beautiful creator dies.

It was a wonderful film that was deeply moving, funny, greatly portrayed and was a joy to watch.
It would take a hard person not to be moved by the end of the film.

What is even more remarkable was that it was based on truth.
Thankfully the young boy of the film in real life managed to go forwards with his life, live it and share part of his story to the world.
His story however now has come to an end.

Rubino Romeo Salmoni passed away aged 91 in Rome on Sunday.
I couldn't let his passing go by without comment.
For those that have seen the film, ye will understand when I say that I hope he and his father are once again meeting up, smiling and together again.

May each rest in peace. They have earned it.

Never even heard of that movie tbh.
Its more known outside Ireland I think.
Won many, many awards including an Oscar - and rightly so I feel.

I'm shocked some people haven't heard of the movie, there was huge buzz around it when it came out. I'd love to have heard what the real life story was like, crying out for a documentary it is. I remember liking the film at the time, it's one I'll revisit I think. Benigni killed his career with pinocchio after that iirc.

    Anyway, RIP.

It really is a great film to most.

As one commenter said on the news site:
I do not exaggerate when I say that this is one of those films that EVERYONE should watch-it is one of the most moving and beautifully shot films I have ever seen. The story is a testament not only to the horrors that a whole generation of families endured during the Holocaust, but to the lengths parents will go to to protect their children, and the unbreakable human spirit in general. RIP Mr. Salmoni.
If your ever going to watch another foreign film, its well worth checking out.

RIP but I thought the film was appalling, it's been a few years since I seen it but I remember being almost offended by it. Parts of it were almost the holocaust done by Walt Disney.

Maybe I'm going a bit over the top as I've said it's been a while since I seen it. My advice to anyone who is going to view this to educate themselves in some way about the holocaust is to go and read Primo Levi instead.
