general dentist doing ortho

    hi , saw this saying on another thread and was wondering can general dentist do ortho? im a nervous patient, but i do go to my dentist every 6months out of fear that something would go wrong(teeth are not the best but trying to work on them). So was wondering would my dentist be able to do braces?id love this as i think id freak out going to another dentist. also both front teeth built up on composite would braces be ok? any advice much appreciated.

    He may be able to but you will most likely get a better result with an Orthodontist as they have extra training in all things braces and probably a few other things.

    Have a check of this site http://www.orthodontics.ie/ for a list of all registered Orthodontists in Ireland.
