Hey everyone, I've a question that I can't seem to find answered on the web...

A lot of laptops I've been looking at claim to have an integrated vga web camera..I believe they're usually about 1.0mp (640x480) but can they be better or worse (eg: vga integrated webcam with 1.3mp or 0.3mp)? The specs never go into detail about the mp/resolution with this type of webcam, not that I've seen anyway.

I've been thinking it's about time I got myself a new machine and the one I've been looking at has this type of camera..I'll be doing some video chatting and while it doesn't need to be top range I would like it to be better than rubbish!
    Thanks:)

If you see one you like, look up a few reviews on it. Normally they'll make some mention of the camera, or it'll be in the comments. At the very least you can always look up the specs and it should have it there somewhere. Most manufacturers will include it in the spec sheet.

    VGA is usually 0.3MP :(

Not great for doing any video calls on skype etc.
My netbook has a 1.3MP camera and works great compared to a VGA one.

I had a laptop before with a VGA camera and the video was so slow very jumpy etc.

If you can find a laptop with a camera of at least 1.3MP you should be fine:pac:
