give the bodywork a good look over, should be in decent nick considering its been resprayed but there could be rust. check the arches and underbody. engine wise once its been well maintained it should be ok...

Hop onto any of the forums and see if anyone knows anything about it.

I've seen it around, wasn't getting ragged at those times anyway.

if your serious about buying a coupe and dont know much about them definitly do not buy the first one you see! go look at afew and you get an idea of what there like and it,ll be easier to spot a good one. BUT be warned it will more than likely mean travelling up and down the country.
also try and join up to ae86irl.com and you get all the info you will ever need.
( and all the info and stories about the pink panter:p )

Most cams have been dogged to be honest. You'd be very hard pressed to find one that was minded

The reason many people buy them in this country is because they've seen/heard one sat on the rev limiter doing donuts and want a piece of that action, and yeah most have at at least some abuse at some stage, many have had a LOT of abuse many many times.

They're certainly good craic and a nice machine to have but the price of them even now is insane for a top quality one when there's so much else car wise that you could get for that money that's better in a lot of ways, but they've become an iconic car.

Anyway a specialist forum would be a far better place to get proper information on them
