    At least the concrete barriers kept the bus on the right side of the mototway. Imagine what would have happened if he hit the Mickey Mouse cables that were installed on some Irish motorways.

    Check out the topic in the Motors Forum. It has been discussed a couple of times. AFAIR the M50 only had cables in the dividing space. Following some accidents standard armco barrier has been installed. I can't verify that this change is universal across all motorways.

    I can't verify that this change is universal across all motorways.
    Pretty sure the wire is still there on the M4 between Leixlip and Maynooth, and maybe a bit beyond. Or that could just be for holding up the bush.
