    Hi,

My judo club is closed for the summer, so I've started looking for alternatives. MMA Lucan is near by, but I don't know anything about the guys who train there.

What I'm mainly looking for is a way to keep fit while keeping up my grappling and take down skills. In no way do I have what it takes to be a cage fighter and as such I'm somewhat apprehensive about joining an MMA club.

Any insights into the club would be greatly appreciated.

    Endy.

Why don't you just drop in and try a class?

Ah, I will do on Monday. But I also don't want to waste anyone's time.

For gi throwing Id go with the traditional jujutsu classes they have on Tuesdays as alot of the same throws are covered. Randori is nt the focus of the class but it does happen.

The mma class will keep you fit for sure but its no-gi. Either way the fee covers both classes.

I do the Judo with Ivan in Husaria and he is an excellent teacher plus he works you like a mule so you will definitely get fit! He runs classes on Tuesday from 8pm 'til 9.30/10 (depends how long you can stick it), Wednesday from 6pm 'til 8pm and Thursday from 8pm 'til 9.30/10.

There is also BJJ Gi and NoGi, Muay Thai and MMA classes so you can have a look and see if you are interested.

Just a heads up on Lucan, I joined and was equally apprehensive as I only had WhiteColler boxing experience prior to this. Did need to be great group of guys, try it. :D
