    Another oddball question :D

Say a farm is fragmented, parcels of land within ten miles of each other.

Can "limited use" types of tax/insurance (read cheaper than full time use) be got for say a small 4x4 jeep. It would be confined to farm use, mostly off road, but with the parcels spread some traveling on the roads would be necessary.

Not been smart john but give fbd a call, you never know, you could be lucky and get your insurance for a euro:cool:

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

NO. If the think is used on the public road, you must have TP insurance

    Ah, I thought as much.

I was on FBD's site earlier, saw the €1 thing. Got a quote for a cheaper car than my own with a smaller engine which is more expensive than I already pay :D

Yes for camper vans - get one of these http://www.adrianstomcat.co.uk/LandRover127.htm

Shop around- most insurance policies are priced according to the amount of mileage you intend to drive- so for example if the insurance is only for limited travel between fragmented parts of the farm- you just put down 10k km/annum and its about 30% less than someone who puts down 20k km/annum

Tax is a different story- and I'd be very careful on this one- as there is a massive crackdown underway on untaxed vehicles. If the vehicle is on a public road at all, it has to be taxed, without exception.

I was half serious about that camper option. If its not your main vehicle the tax on that is 88 euros and the insurance is about 330. Very practical.
