well lads i had a call last week to say i wasnt successful. made it as far as the final interview but i'll go no further. gutted to be honest. been a sparks for 12 yrs and was a supervisor for 3. had a feedback call from them this week and i was told that while technically i had everything they were looking for the lack of experience in customer relations is basically what i fell down on. wasnt impressed to say the least. had done a 2 week course in carlow in fibre installation and rrepair during the summer, thought it might help but they seem to be focused on the customer care side of things. i wud have thought upgrading the network to fibre wud have been a priority since the competition is streaks ahead in that dept. anyway best of luck to those who got in, it wasnt an easy process to go through so make the most of it. rant over:confused:

Really sorry to hear that. As a girl that has absolutely no experience in the area I was sure I wouldn't get in. I actually feel bad now seeing as you seem to have so much experience in the area. Don't get me wrong, I have over 7 years experience in one to one customer care, and have won awards in the area, but I have zilch in this area! Maybe they should have balanced it a bit more?! Although I suppose they can teach us the installation and all that, sometimes you will either be good with customers or not.

Anyway sorry again to hear that, best of luck with your future endeavours.

And best of luck to all starting today!!

Balls!! Would a month in hand not mean we get paid at the end of our first month though?? That's how it used to be in a past job I had anyway but could be different here.

Thats what i heard but i'm hoping its only a rumour, they couldn't expect us to work 8-9 weeks before getting paid especially considering a lot of us might have to relocate and pay a deposit on a new place, a month in hand would be working two months before getting paid the same as working a week in hand is working two weeks before getting paid and then getting your last weeks wages the week after you finish up, hopefully someone just mis heard or mis read something, because i think working a month i arrears is working for a month and getting paid after that month so maybe thats what it is and they just got mixed up

I wouldnt think that they woul have people starting in november and then not paying people until after christmas leaving people with nothing! I wouldnt worry about that! Youl get paid at the end of the month!

Ah hope they don't leave us that long waiting for money. It's bad enough that they don't know how long we will be located in Dublin for; so finding a place to stay is hard enough as it is, seeing as we can't commit to a long term lease. Best of luck Red, hope it's a 'yes' after this wait!

No word from anyone that started today yet....... was it that bad??!!

hi, can anyone tell me what the medical entails?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 96 ✭✭axiom

still waiting on my medical date .... starting Nov 14th :D

being that most of the people who were starting 17th seemed to be from down the country, I doubt we'll get much response until the weekend, I'd say they're fairly run off their feet atm sorting work, accomadation and navigating round Dublin ...

very curious myself to hear anything though :)

Being paid a backmonth is terrible. To not be paid in 2 months when this apprenticeship was organized months ago is ridiculous.... and their carry on with that chap who has yet to be given a yes/no. It would seem that this wasnt the best organized program.

Congrats to everyone who got a place. I'm sort of glad I bitched out of the practical, it would drive me off the wall not getting paid for 2 months.

It might all seem bad but you have to look further then 2 months! I'm looking years down the line and the trade skills, experience etc. that you will learn along the way!
