Hello, first of all let me tell you a little about myself and my trading experience so far.
I have been studying trading CFDs for 18 months now and have gone through the usual learning curve of starting off with high optimism and no clue as to what trading long term actually entails. I have had some small losses (few hundred pounds) that i have put down as my 'learning fee'. I now feel that I have a fairly solid foundation of knowledge to build upon and feel that success cannot be far away.

I have been using the IT-Finance platform for back testing but have found that the data they provide for 3 minute charts is confined to two days worth at a time. I have there fore decided that i need another package for backtesting but all that I have found require that i find my own minute data to insert within the package.

Here is the problem - I have some great ideas for trading systems but have no money to purchase minute data for the DJIA - does anyone have any idea as to where one might find access to, say the previous two or threee years worth of historical minute data for the DJIA index (the index not the individual stocks). Any advice regarding this matter would be greatly appreciated.

If you prefer you can reply to my post by email. my address is paul.lunt@tiscali.co.uk

    Many thanks in advance :)
