Rover 75 seats?

    Hi all.

Mrs Class bought a 75 Tourer a few months ago.

So far she's been very pleased with it.

So much so, I've been on the lookout for a leather interior for it to replace the cloth seats.

    My questions about this are.............

The seats are now manually controlled. A set of leather seats would probably be electrically controlled, right?

Would this complicate any possible changeover?

Would the wiring in our car be in place to directly 'plug in'?

Is the whole idea a non-runner?

Thanks in advance for any replies.:)

AFAIK you can get manually adjustable leather seats too. Tragedy/RoverJames are the people in the know. My 75 tourer had electrically adjustable ones, but there would have been additional wiring to support the power to the seat.

    Thanks Owen.

If I could get those, it should be a fairly straightforward job.:)

Most likely though they would be powered, as they'd be in the high-end models.

Wondering what the scene would be in that case?

The issue is that the high end seats have the memory function too which is linked into the body control unit. Positions are stored in that unit and can be set to each key too. When you're adjusting the seat, you hear a bing through the speakers when you program the seat/recall a program. So on that basis, it's more than just a simple 12v/GND hookup to the seat itself. And the car would probably need coding with a Rover Testbook to activate the memory function.

The passenger electrically adjustable seat has no memory, so that should be a simple 12v/GND setup.

    Ah!

Never thought of that. Though the most modern car I've owned is my '94 Mazda!:D

Do all electric seats have the memory function?

Not sure myself, the other lads will definitely know more than me.
