HDMI Query

Im a little confused so i thought it might be better to ask on here first,

It concerns HDMI out, i have an iphone 4 and an ipad one. I want to be able to hook either up to a tv via hdmi to watch movies via XBMC.

Can this be done on either or both and if so what do i need?

Any apple oddities or is it just a case of plug in and go

why can't you hook the TV up to XBMC?

Or are you looking to view movies on the device?

my home tv is connected to my ATV2 which has XBMC installed, thats fine, takes media from my NAS

im talking about going away on hols, with XBMC installed on my ipad or phone with some media on the device and connecting that to a tv and watching it

You wouldn't need XBMC installed on the device.

Well then it should be as simple as jailbreaking the device and installing XBMC

If the TV supports DLNA you might not have to buy the cable, you may be able to stream it over IP, but if you're going on holidays then I suppose you don't know what's available to you.
