Sugar not as sweet as Irish Sugar

    I hate that Gem Sugar and others. It is not as sweet as the old Suicra Irish one. I think it is sugar cane and the old irish one was sugar beet. Also it is like grit and the old sugar was crystaline.

    I miss Suicra

    i used to live in carlow right beside the sugar factory - i sure as hell don't miss it. the town spelt like sh!te for two months of the year when they were making the sugar. also massive traffic jams of tractors with trailers blocking up all the roads.

    yeah nothing like a layer of exhaust fumes from locomotives to make those beets taste even better...

    You must miss the excitement though, all Carlow has going for it now is probably the largest number of chippers per capita in the town. I'm sitting in Tullow now and I can honestly say I've seen no drearier and pointless place in the country

    hence "used to live" there. and Tullow is a dump.
