OMS are back and about to unleash a torrent of heavy duty tracks on our asses!

They have a campaign going whereby you pledge a given amount of money for a t-shirt/dvd/hoodie etc. in different combos. The money you pay goes towards their bills for studio/packaging/manufacture.

    Make your pledge here:

I saw them in Dorans in Limerick in I think 2001 or 2002. Some gig! We got on the bus too with Ed and Glen.

I recently got in contact with Ed and would consider him to be a friend. He sent me over an old OMS hoodie (he wears it in one of the interviews) and a long-sleeve shirt with "Pig Until Proven Cop" on the sleeve :D

Seen these guys a couple of times. Great band, amazing energy on stage.

Also got to meet Ed and Brian at Xtreme fest in the RDS back in 2002. Great guys, so down to earth aswell, got an autographed drum stick off Ed aswell, one of my fondest memories!

Also bumped in to the lead singer of Raging Speedhorn that same day, went over to ask for an autograph which I got followed by a " ...now leave me the fcuk alone!!"

    Amazing the difference!!

Definately gona pledge. Top guys and a great band!

That was the gig alright. was a day time show for the kids too if I remember.

There was some mosh at it albeit small. Ed was up in court there a while ago. I was looking at the link recently. He was fighting the god fight. IL post it to ya when I get out of the office.

Just pledged there.... CD/DVD/Download bundle £21, great value tbh.

The pledge seems to be moving quite slowly, hope the guys make it.

Question... if the lead singer and guitarist are both Irish (the former drummer was British), how exactly are they a "legendary British Rap Metal band" according to the pledgemusic.com page?
I was always under the impression (admittedly, from the little I knew) that they were considered an Irish band?

Either way, great to hear they're back :)

Yap, Massy and Glen all lived in England when they formed. Eddie was already there. They're based in the UK if you like but Massy is from Limerick, Yap is from a town 15 mins away from me in Templemore, Glen is from some part of Spain that I can never remember and Eddie is english.

I knew the band quite well in the early days, back when Chris was guitarist, also interviewed then many times. Ed is no longer in the band due to his illness, i also considered him a 'sort of' friend until this happened

The guy can be a bit opionionated!!

I was at the Extreme gig, roadieing for Breed 77, was a great day, always remember going to Dorans after Motorhead wit Breed/OMS and passing this monster spliff round, bouncer didn't have a fcukin clue who was carrying it

I wouldn't class them as a British band though... I'm not a 'RA-head or anything, but it bugs the hell out of me that in the likes of sport or music, the mediocre ones are left to be Scottish / Northern Irish / Welsh, but as soon as they're successful, they're suddenly British.
If two of the lads are Irish, and the other two from the UK / Spain, then they're either Irish or International. Certainly not British IMO. If U2 or Thin Lizzy had formed in the UK, they'd still be an Irish band to me.

am I missing something with this pledge thing? They haven't got enough money to record the album, so they get people to raise the capital, and they get an album in return..
Is this to save them having to pay for an album, get X amount printed, and then be in danger of having X amount left over under the bed?
Why not just get a loan from the bank or credit union, and record the album that way?

Is Massy from Limerick? I never heard anyone around Limerick talk about him?
He sounds very much English here, if it's the same guy, which I think it is. I always thought the singer was the only Irish guy in the band?

I love the idea of PledgeMusic (I pledged for earthtone9 recently).

I like OMS, I have seen them many times (including 3 out of 4 dates of the tour with Breed77 and Brinskill Bombbeat in 2001) and been waiting for a live show for too long since the original reunion announcement.

But "returning to classic OMS tracks and B-Sides they never got round to playing live"? When I saw they were doing a pledge I thought "Quality, new music" but no just re-recordings of older tracks. I pretty much have every song they released and so getting "live" renditions of sings like Brainspiller (the old running joke was they couldn't play this live due to the samples) seem superfluous. Also some of the things on offer are taking the piss e.g. "Ltd edition gatefold vinyl signed by the entire band - £185" an extra £168 for 5 signatures? You're having a laugh

I will pledge but compared to the earthtone9 one this feels, I don't know, pathetic? I can't wait to see them live and hear what they will do in the studio but this just feels wrong, don't know why.
