Any of the uncharted games pretty much tick the box here.

Uncharted 1 and 2 can both be picked up quite cheaply!

I'm pretty sure ive seen them pop up in bargain alerts for cheaper too, so keep your eyes peeled and you could get them for very very cheap!

Definately agree with Uncharted 1&2. Both games are being released as one game (if that makes sense) shortly... I wouldn't wait.

Also you can get God of War 1&2 by buying God of War Collection

Would have to say Crysis 2 PS3, I was blown away by it, up there with Call of Duty for me, one of the best games ive ever played
Also I agree with the above posters, Both Uncharted 1 and 2 are epic games

Recently I'd say Infamous 2. Alice madness is suppose to be good but I haven't played it. Portal 2 is great but not really adventure.

Other games I'd recommend, but not recent would be
Batman AA can pick it up for £10
Just cause 2 for £9 - love this game. So much fun.

Under A Funeral Moon

As previously mentioned, Uncharted 1 & 2 and God Of War 1, 2 and 3 are all epic. Batman: Arkham Asylum is very good too, but the challenges will wreck your head. Dante's Inferno is brilliant, but has some online parts you'll have to do if you want to get the platinum. I'm playing Fallout 3 at the minute. It's a fantastic game, but extremely addictive.

Playing Dead Space at the moment, got it for 14 yoyos at the weekend. The anxiety levels are through the roof! Resident Evil has nothing on this! I'd compare it to Silent Hill...Gonna (try) to clear it and get the sequel. Although it's kind of a pleasure/pain scenario...I don't particularly enjoy playing it due to the heebie jeebies but I want to find out how the spaceship becme infected/possessed!!

Also getting through Assassin's Creed Brotherhood. About as good as AC2...which was class.

Enslaved: Odyssey to the West is a fantastic single-player game. You can find it dirt cheap at the moment.

Also, have a look at Beyond Good and Evil HD, available on the PSN. Its a remake of an older game but as not many people played it the first time around, chances are you have not either. Well worth it too.

Obviously, AAA series like Uncharted, Assassin's Creed and Ratchet and Clank also deserve a mention again.
