It says he adjourned her sentencing, not that he pardoned her.

And then some psychologist will make up some bogus story which will seem to legitimise it and blame men for everything, and probably the probation act will apply. Can you imagine the suffering this would cause to the victimes to be lured into a honey pot and robbed - major ego damage there.

    From Webster
Adjourn : to suspend indefinitely or until a later stated time

    From Stinicker
Adjourn: to just forget that anything ever happened

The case has been adjourned, not exactly unheard of. It doesn't mean anyone has "walked free".

it might be. but for now, to state she has walked free, as if she was not given a custodial sentence, is incorrect and sensationalist.

Great, now everytime I am offered a threesome, I will doubt the girls' intentions, possibly even turn some of them down.

The men would be totally defenceless, as had they lashed out, they would be probably done for assault

Karmas a bitch, and hopefully they lure the wrong type of guy for some fun... :pac:

Whatever about robbing him at knifepoint, they should definitely go to jail for offering a threesome and then pulling out of it. Disgraceful.

She did walk free, in a way. She's currently at liberty because she was granted bail. That in itself is crazy. Since when do we allow people who have been convicted of crimes such as these to just walk around the place? Oh, that's right - since always.

I write court reports for my clients, we do not make up bogus stories. Simply we state if a person is engaging in treatment, attending session, making positive changes in their lives.

We do not excuse the person's criminal behaviour. Court reports are very serious reports, I can be called in by the judge to stand over what I put in the report, it has never happened but it can if the judge wants it.

No therapist is going to put their career at risk by writing up a dodgy report. This is often mentioned, but court reports are not a get of jail free card, they are simply something considers before the person is sentenced.

IMO if a person is trying to change their life this should be considered by the judge, it does not mean that I don't think the person should not be punished.

At a pure guess here I would say the recovery being spoken of here has something to do with addiction. It may not be the case but a lot of my client's engaged in sex work have addiction problems. If they engage in treatment, it may reduce the likelihood of re-offending, and this needs to be consider by the judge, but it does not mean the person should not be punished.

I wouldn't put it past a paper to leave something like that out to glamorize the story.

Reminds me of this Supermarket Scam:

I don't how many of you shop at Tesco, but this may be useful to know.

I am posting this to you to warn you of something that happened to me, as I have become a victim of a clever scam while out shopping.

This happened to me at Tesco in Dublin and it could happen to you.

    Here's how the scam works:

Two good-looking young women come over to your car as you are packing your shopping in the boot. They both start wiping your windscreen with a rag and windolene, with their breasts almost falling out of their skimpy t-shirts.

It will be impossible not to look. When you thank them and offer them payment, they say 'no' and instead ask you for a ride to another supermarket.

You agree, and they get in the back seat. On the way they start having sex with each other. Then one of them climbs over into the front seat and performs a sex act on you, while the other one steals your wallet.

I had my wallet stolen last Tuesday, Wednesday, twice on Thursday, and again on Saturday.

The charges relate to separate incidents in Bantry in West Cork on September 5 last involving two different men, a 22-year old and a 55-year old.

Judge Patrick Moran was told two men had been lured separately to a house with promises of sex -- with the middle-aged man offered a "threesome.

I would call neither of those ages "middle-aged".

She did walk free, in a way. She's currently at liberty because she was granted bail. That in itself is crazy. Since when do we allow people who have been convicted of crimes such as these to just walk around the place? Oh, that's right - since always.

That's b00llocks, judges need time to make their decision, they may want to see how the person behaves, i.e. are they still engaging in criminality. The judge may want reports from various services like probation etc and that takes time.

Regardless of whether she goes to jail or now she has not walked away free because she not has a criminal conviction. It part of due processupon which our justice system is based. She is not walking away free as she will be sentenced later and as I said now has a conciction. There will be conditions to her bail, and if she breaks them it can be revoked, and that does happen, so she is not really at liberty either.

Highlighted part is actually bollocks, I think you'll find. When you have a person, who lures another person to some location and then robs them at knifepoint (on more than occassion) you've got an extremely dangerous individual on your hands. 'See how the person behaves'? No - absolutely not. The judge's first duty of care here is to the general public. She should not be in a position where she could possibly committ a similar crime again.

Oh, and she is at liberty. She in not in jail. Where she should be.

I glad your not in the justice system, there needs to be due process. Should this person be punished YES. My understanding is that a judges first duty is that justice is done and the law up-holded. Many things need to be considered which sentencing, not just whether the person is guilty.

As I said if the judge wants reports that takes time, and in some cases the best place for assessments and reports to be made is outside of jail. Most of the people I work with in the prison system deserve to be there; so I'm not a liberal who thinks people should get off jail time. However, I believe their are better options than jail for some people and if [I'm only guessing here] the judge needs time to see if the person if suitable and that can only really happen if the person is on bail.
