Hi looking for a bit of help, i have a 00 opel combo and a few days ago i started to having a probem shifting in to reverse it was making a grinding sound and was a bit sticky shifting in to second gear, then this morning my clutch cable snapped as i was about to leave the driveway. Could the frayed clutch cable have been causing the issue selecting gears or am i looking at having to get the gear box replaced??
thanks in advance for any advise that can be offered.

Dunno without looking at it but the cable would have lengthened due to its build up to failure. This in turn may have resulted in the clutch plate not releasing properly and thus making it tricky to select/change gears.
