My boyfriend got his full driving licence today in the post. Unlike my licence and his mother's licence (from last year) his licence is missing the green lines that cross the photo. Anyone else got a licence recently with this missing? His provisional had the green lines so I think there's been a mistake with his full licence.

There's little green lines that go through the photo, there hard to see but they exist.

yes green lines. they're very faint, almost like a watermark. have you just got your licence recently?

Although i have my full licence for awhile now i had to apply for a duplicate cos i left it in a rental in america, got it a couple of weeks ago, had a look there & it has the green lines. Not sure is it really an issue though? Maybe go into the tax office & just ask to be safe?

I got mine a year and 2 months ago, and it has the green wavy lines vertically through my photo. As did my Learner Permit beforehand.

I rang Louth Co co after getting all your replies. She said that she's had a few complain about them alright and she can run the heat stamp over it again to make the lines clearer (I argued that they're not even there in the first place) so she's great to want to help us out...

thanks for all the replies. much appreciated.

If it's any help mine was also applied for with Louth Co Co. I applied for it at the Motor Tax Office in Dundalk and got it two days later. The lines are fairly noticeable though, probably because the background of my photo is white!
