Ryanair used to fly Luton to Shannon but discontinued that route about two yrs ago. I flew it a couple of times midweek and there were about 12 people on the flight. It obvoiusly wasn't very profitable :( Ryanair have 3 flights daily Luton to Dublin if that's any help? They also fly to Kerry and Knock to Luton.

AFAIK there are no other airlines flying Luton to Shannon. Aerarann fly Luton to Galway four times a week if that's any good? They also fly Luton to Waterford. Those are your options Luton to Irish airports in general.
    :pac:

complete bloody tangent but when people near certain airports give out about flights not "being provided", patronage like this is the answer to WHY it is that services are cut in certain instances. Its not because airlines/ the government/ the world/ god hates your area.

Anyhow, I'm luton bound soon and seeing as theres no demand for a flight from Munich seemingly, I'll be flying to stanstead and theres a bus every hour even through the night connecting Stanstead and Luton airport. Costs about a tenner and takes an hour for the transfer.
Lookup the national express website for details.

There's also busses from Heathrow but they were more costly with a longer journey if i remember rightly.

Totally agree. It was a pathetic setup - large Ryanair plane leaving massive carbon footprint and hardly anybody on the flight. It couldn't possible be sustainable, and they got rid of it. Nothing at all to do with the fact that it was going out of Shannon. People will still complain but I can totally understand the airline's business viewpoint. Shannon suited me personally at the time coming from the midlands but to be honest with the new motorways Dublin is just as assessible now.
